With this concept in mind GrindTime Record Co., TheeWebsite featured Indie Rap Label, had a vision for restoring the prominence that was once held in the Long Beach hip-hop community; back at a time when cliques and groups could work together to produce music for all their listeners to vibe too.  The inception to the dream had already been planted now it was simply about morphing thought into reality. Lexo along with the rest of the GT crew built the relationships, crossed the bridges, and mended the cracks to bring together all the dopest and bausest talent who are out their grinding in the city  on the port that birthed the likes of Snoop, Nate and Warren G. The new talent bestoyed upon the templar of Long Beach’s Round Table include the likes of: Lexo, Fedie Demarco, Deeds, Joe Beez, HIT of Fly Society, Flash, and J Boy.  The union of these artists brought life to an idea, and the creation of CityStars Vol.1: Hottest In The Beach, a mixtape featuring baus new music from each of the LBC natives.

Separate they are all great rappers but as a movement they are held by no boundaries, they are a force with a backing, a whole city seeking a face and a voice to represent them. The cut down of pharmaceutical dispensaries in LA from 160 to 41 over the past week was no deterrent towards the march to freedom, as with this loss came a victory as Google approved Pro-Marijuana Legalization ads on their Advertising streams. The legalization of pots sole purpose is not about indulging people’s personal needs it is about railing back our civil liberties. This is Our 21st century Revolution, we are Generation Next, the kingdom is looking to us to shape the future, our coming decisions will construct the vertebrae that controls the next decades of our nation’s empire. Make your decision whether its pro or anti but the most important part is to make a decision, our intellect is needed, our voice has to be heard.

Shaping a voice for an entire generation seems like an impossible feat, especially if your a raging alcoholic, pothead + anysubstanceyoucangetyourhandson user. Hunter S. The 2010-2011 school year will be quite different for some students part of the Los Angeles Unified School district. For the past couple of years, LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) have been working on a joint project, renovating the old Ambassador Hotel and transformed it into a $578 Million, K-12 public school.. making it the most expensive public school in the nation. Some of the school features included, are fine art murals, a marble memorial depicting the complex’s namesake, a manicured public park, a state-of-the-art swimming pool and preservation of pieces of the original hotel. The school is estimated to house roughly, 4200 students and spend an average of $135,000 per student… roughly 40% more than the average for schools built in central Los Angeles. Wow..

The overpriced school has opened during an insensitive time for the Los Angeles education system. Over the past two years, nearly 3,000 teachers have been laid off due to insufficient funds.. The academic year and numerous academic programs have been slashed, and some LA schools are ranked at an all time low.. It’s simply not logical for our city to spend lavish sums of money on new school buildings.. environment.. etc.. When, “They’re run by the same people who’ve given us a 50 percent dropout rate, they’re a big waste of taxpayer money,” said Ben Austin, executive director of Parent Revolution who sits on the California Board of Education.

Yet, it’s fair to assume that students may be willing to perform better in schools with a modern, tech-savvy environment where they feel like they’re appreciated..

“There’s no more of the old, windowless cinderblock schools of the ’70s where kids felt, ‘Oh, back to jail,”‘ said Joe Agron, editor-in-chief of American School & University, a school construction journal. “Districts want a showpiece for the community, a really impressive environment for learning.”

Who knows what this new school will bring about..We’ll just have to wait and see… Meanwhile check out these extravagant numbers- Where did they get all the funding? That’s the true question..

Alabama superstar, Yelawolf put on quite a show at the 16th annual X-Games performing a slew of his tracks from his breakout mixtape ‘Trunk Muzik’.
